My brother-in-law has a 710D2 that I've used before, and while it is an impressive knife, it's for some reason not high on my list. I think the knife a very functional EDC, I carried an axis AFCK before, and find them very similar. I plan on getting one sometime, just in the future when buying a knife is not such a rare event. I want someting that makes me say: "COOL!"
 
I would also recommend a Kershaw Spec Bump. Have you thought about a Kershaw ZT0200 it's $160 and has gotten great reviews. I don't have one yet but mine will be here in a couple of weeks. Check out the zt passaround thread.
