Recommend a large bowie knife under $150.

Some that I have been considering Hen & Rooster, Case and Puma.

You could pick up an old Western on the fleaBay.

I got mine off the makers for sale section for $150.

I really liked the few cold steel trail masters that I have owned. I liked the laredo too. They are both 5/16" thick which I think is pretty cool.

CS TrailMaster is a great knife. I have one. But IMHO, you'd be hard pressed to beat the Ontario SP10 Marine Raider Bowie. 1/4" thick 1095 High Carbon steel, full tang, great stock sheath, Made in America & all for about $62 to your door. I love mine. It is a chopping machine & the point is wicked sharp. Mine drew blood when i touched it. Blade will need to be sharpened, but mine also holds a wicked edge, even after batoning.

I agree with Twinstick, Ontario SP10 Marine Raider Bowie. Wicked knife for the price. I can vouch for the sharpness......mine slipped of a counter top and went straight thru my foot....point first. Left a nice little gash and some slight nerve damage. Wasnt the first time I have been bitten, wont be the last.

I have used, and really like, the SOG tech Bowie....

SOG catches some heat here. It's all good, my flame suit is on :)

I like the SOG Super Bowie. One of the best blades SOG offers. Don't have one. How about an SK-5 Tiger Shark?

Scrapyard Regulator, top knife.
7.5in blade

You can often find them in the exchange.

I had the regulator and didnt care for it, the one thing i expected to hate when i ordered it was the grip and that was the one thing i liked. its just too thick for me. I really like the sog super bowie and need one, and i really want the natchez bowie when it comes out in carbon steel.

my current favorite bowie is a stek damascus with stag handle.

the laredo bowie has impressed me though so far, much better edge holding than i expected and better balance.

i had a Trailmaster, that belonged to a client who needed a sheath built, in my posession for awhile. it wasn't mine, so i didn't put it to any work, but i did find myself holding it a lot due to the perfect feel it had. it made me really want a Recon Scout which would be my choice, if i was on the Bowie hunt.

Case also makes a nice bowie along the same lines as the Westerrn Guyon posted. I think it fits your price range too.

Kabar large heavy bowie. Great 10" carbon steel blade and no hand guard, which is superfluous on a big knife like that in my opinion. The hande is quite thick if you have small hands though. Great buy at about 60 bucks.
