Recommend a factory-made Slip joint with micarta scales/Modern SS blade

Have you looked into the Moki Fish Owl? It's been on my "want' list for a very long time - AUS 8 shadow pattern, allegedly with incredible F&F. It's right up my alley but it does seem a bit steep for the materials....

The Fish Owl price might seem steep, until you own one, then you will think it is a bargain. You could mistake it for a custom knife.

Yah , Frank, you are correct about it stylistically, and Queen does do the modern steels. Hmmf. Anyhoo, Canal street is seconded, also the Enzo, they come in a couple of colors, different materials, possibly steels, and 2 (generally) kinds of grinds. Even one with a bolster that looks sweet. Case has a couple in 154cm-backpocket, trapper or mini-trapper. Moki's are great. Number of places sell Enzos, so shop around. And as always, A.G. Russell has great traditionals, locking and non-locking. Don't forget the exchange either, surprising what comes up. Queen's D2 also seems pretty stain-resistant, and sharpens up beautifully.
Thanks, Neal

Knifecenter simply listed their maker as"a well respected small batch east coast knife maker" . Onespdfrk also mentions it in a 2015 thread. Doesn't prove anything, but Queen hardly seems small batch. Shrug...still would like to figure it out😎
Thanks, Neal

Neal, In the comments of a youtube video, Derrick from Knives Ship Free said "Also, I am sure that knife is at the very least a Queen/Canal St colab."

Lots of good choices mentioned. Two of the best for this catagory are the Moki Fish Owl (closed lockback below) and Fallkniven U2 (opened lockback below) shown with GEC 15 (top), 77 (bottom) and Vic Farmer for comparison.

I had to get one of those Moki Fish Owls (small size) this place is shameless!:D:D:thumbup:

Thanks, Will

Here's a Moki Calliope. VG10 blade steel. Black Micarta with Mother of Pearl insert. Near custom quality and I like the name. Reminds me of an old song from the 70's by Manfred Mann. Completely off topic but, yeah.

Rick, that's an interesting Moki and I wasn't familiar with it. Hope you haven't just dented my knife budget again!

I'm a big fan of the Moki Fish Owl: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1070022-Big-Fish-Little-Fish-(A-Tale-of-Two-Mokis) (sorry so many of the pics are gone):

Cheers,

Andrew

These aren't for sale, but you could always keep your eyes peeled for Canal Street Cutlery. They are probably a little scarce, but the Half Moon Trappers are 14-4 CrMO (very similar to 154CM) and I believe the Pinch Lockbacks are D2. The Full Moon (two blade trappers were 440C).
Half Moons in Micarta, G10 and CF/G10

Pinch Lockbacks in Micarta, kirinite and CF/G10

Full Moon G10

My hands down favorite Canal Street is this Swell Center Jack in red linen Micarta and D2. Its beefy, but it's a beauty.

Try an AG Russell Rancher or Cowboy. The quality of these knives are spot-on.
I like his Barlow too.
