Can anyone recommend a good custom maker for a slipjoint? I'm thinking of trying a custom, built to order stockman pattern.

Thanks!

Al Warren makes a real nice stockman.Reasonable,too.

Another good one is Ken Erickson. He'll give you a fine stockman at a very reasonable price.

There are other great makers that produce a lot of good stockman patterns I can think of like Bill Ruple, Eugene Shadley, Joel Chamblin. Some of which have currently have knives available at a premium with purveyors: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=451388&highlight=dealers

There are others, of course. Good luck.

Tim Britton, Ray Cover, or his son Jeff Cover also.

Try Jerry Halfrich or Mike Zscherny. Both of these guys make really nice traditional folders.

Don't forget Joe Allen,and John Howser,too

+1 on all named previously. I think Joe Allen is very reasonable. His delivery times are quite a bit faster than most makers.

Matison on the forum, Mike Tison: Makes some great ones, here is a sowbelly of his that made Knives Illustrated plus Knife World:
