Recommend a good folding knife for farmer

I'd suggest one of the Spyderco H1 folders. He's not big on sharpening and serrated H1 holds an edge like nobody's business. It also has textured FRN so even if his hands are wet, muddy, covered in soil he can grip well and it has one handed open/close which would be wicked convenient for a guy who's hands might be full.
No rust is also a huge plus for someone who might have to do something like cut into moist stuff and then put the knife in his pocket.

Tasman Salt.
Lightweight, rustproof, easy to open with gloves, tough non chippy steel,, awesome edge retention, dirt-proof lock and hardware

My friend is a farmer, vegetables, garlic, etc., small farm, no real tractor. He carries a Case Caliber all the time. Says he has no need for a larger knife. He also has a few pruners with a hawkbill that he uses for harvesting and all around work. He has occasional farm workers, so I've given him a few reconditioned flea market vintage hawkbills for them to use and lose.

Farming in central FL and WV (many years ago) I carried a Buck 112. Did everything I needed to do with a knife.

You folks have had great suggestions and been quite generous with your offers. Thank you.

I opted to go with the GEC. I figure I can coach him on being better about sharpening. He does do a good job on his kitchen knives, so perhaps he'll be more attentive than I give him credit for.
