I want a leather sheath that I can use for my skinny Ash or SFNO)when I get one), a fire steel and smaller knife to piggy back with. I hate ridiculously thick leather sheaths but don't care for flimsy sheaths either.
Are there any kydex makers who can make a multi purpose sheath like I want as well?

That sounds like a job for Martin Swinkels. His work is top notch blending kydex with leather flawlessly.

I really like Chuddy Bear and Leatherman.:thumbup::thumbup: That's my choice.:D
And Do Not forget about Rainwalker.

I think this is what I am looking for. Minimal bulk, the beauty of leather and retention of kydex. Not to mention versatility in design.

Thanks

Between my dad and I, we've ordered many leather sheaths from Chuddy Bear, and all of them are top quality

No problem. From what I've seen Martin does not disappoint. If you're looking for straight leather, you probably can't go wrong with the other makers mentioned either.

leatherman has been doing it the longest, i believe. he probably offers the most options and materials, as well as styles. he makes heavy duty as well as lighter sheaths. he is also the master of the inlay.

chuddy bear also makes fine sheaths, and his tend to be thicker and heavier. i had one of his first sheaths (for a game warden), and his skills have impressively increased over the last few years.

both makers will do engravings/carvings.

Does Leatherman have a web site? All I come up with in a Google search are the Leatherman multi tools.

Thanks Mark!

Chuddy does great work, but, as noted above, his style does not tend to the slim side that the OP prefers.

Paul Long & Kenny Rowe both make great sheaths and they are slimmer in profile. Chuddy Bear might be able to take on the request for a slimmer sheath even though his style is to a slightly thicker "bombproof" version of sheath. You'd have to ask him as I'm not sure about this.
...But they are great sheaths also and are built to last! :)

I don't believe that Paul Long has a website, but he is reachable here on BladeForums under the name sheathmaker or his email addy is: pfl@cebridge.net

Rainwalker (Jeff) seems to make slimmer profile sheaths too. I don't have any yet, but they look great and he comes highly recommended too. :)

Exactly why I love Chuddybear. Sheaths worthy of a Busse! Top notch workmanship and no fear of failure.

In general unless you ask for a thin one, I make them like I like em...thick!
I do have to say, that I have slimmed down the entire line over about the last year. I was getting a little carried away there for a while with the thickness. :o

Chuddy, Rainwalker, and Leatherman are all excellent leather sheath makers! I now have sheaths from all 3 leather benders, and I like them all the same. All 3 gentlemen make INCREDIBLE sheaths for the money. You can't go wrong man.
