Recommend a quality small "cheap" EDC knife

I'm going to start this off by saying I am NOT one for smaller knives for some reason. I had a ZT 0900 briefly. While it was an AMAZING little knife, I couldn't justify keeping it for the price knowing I would hardly ever actually carry it. I don't mind paying $$$ for knives I am actually going to use a lot.

Now, on occasion, I have to "dress up" which to me means slacks and a shirt and tie. I am looking for a smaller folder to carry for these times. Since this doesn't happen too often for me, I don't want to spend a lot of $$ on this knife.

Looking for the following:

- Folder
- Smaller (I.E. size of ZT 0900 or smaller) Blade 2.75" or under
- Pocket clip (I hate just putting a knife down in the bottom of my pocket) Deep Pocket Clip is preferred!
- Isn't too "scary" looking for when I actually need to pull it out and use it. Not a "Tactical" looking knife, something more "professional"
- Decent quality / decent steel (Not a $10 Walmart special)
- Would love to keep it under $50.

Suggestions?

I have been looking at the Kershaw Scallion (maybe the Chive or Ember) but still looking for other suggestions.

Kershaw chill, delica, buck Vantage small, UKPK, boker elegance come to mind

I like my all black Kershaw Leek for just that type of occasion

Google the silver alox Victorinox Pioneer, and the Victorinox belt hanger. Take the longer chain and ring off.

I carry a lock back folding utility knife from Harbor Freight, about $4-5. Blades are always sharp being replaceable (and cheap). I've carried one for years. It has done everything I've ever ask of it. I never worry about losing one.... I have a few in stock buying one after I thought I'd lost my EDC only to find it again.

ESEE Avispa... But it's 3.5"

Otherwise I highly recommend the Spyderco Pingo. Love mine...

How about a spyderco dragonfly it's a little bit over your budget but worth the look. You can get the orange or the sprint in purple very office friendly.

There's also the CS Tuff Lite or Byrd Robin, or the Blade-Tech Mouse or Ratel. There's also the Boker Trance, one of my personal favorites.

The Leek is 1/4" over the OP's stated maximum unless he wants to regrind it. Better off with the Kershaw Scallion or Cryo in that case.

A Boker Subcom is pretty cheap at about $30. The blade is well under your size limit but is wide enough to cut well. It is also very flat and and low profile, even clipped.

Boker exskellimoor II (or boker exskelibur ii, they're more or less the same knife. The difference is the handle scale material).

They're 440c hollow ground blades, 2.75in blade length, liner lock, and isn't going to intimidate anyone.

Ok, so right now I am leaning towards the Kershaw Cryo, but also looking at the Scallion or the Spyderco Cat.

But still looking.. :)

Kind of surprised the Buck Vantage small hasn't been mentioned yet. Deeeep carry clip, flipper, 2 5/8" blade. Only knock is I want it to be just slightly larger.
