Recommend a quality small "cheap" EDC knife

A little longer, but I really like the Byrd meadowlark 2 with G10 scales, or the Spyderco Delica. The scallion is a great choice, I still have mine. But I found it a little too small for me.

I like that Cat... Cool little blade.

I have a Spyderco Cat that I bought a couple of years ago to have as a cheap travel knife. I was completely surprised by the quality (though being a Spydie fan I should not have been). It was way more knife than I was expecting. F&F are near perfect on mine and the walk and talk, the action, is superb. The detent is excellent, too.

Another knife to consider is the same size but has a slightly longer blade and that knife is the Spyderco Chaparral. It is a lot more high end. I bought the reasonably priced carbon fiber model.

Google the silver alox Victorinox Pioneer, and the Victorinox belt hanger. Take the longer chain and ring off.

 The belt hanger is a sweet idea. Classy and functional even without the knife attached. I might have to pick one of these up for my Cadet(s).

I'd personally recommend a SRM710 unless you're a chinese-brands hater...$8, decent steel, scalpel sharp, perfect centering, beautiful patterns available and different handle scales/drawings/colors. Pocket clip, small blade, discreet, as cheap as it gets.

If you din't like it, it's always a great gift for someone in need of a decent, cheap knife!

How about a spyderco dragonfly it's a little bit over your budget but worth the look. You can get the orange or the sprint in purple very office friendly.

+1 for the Dragonfly. Its quite a bit smaller than the ZT you mentioned, but a lot more capable than people think. Fantastic ergonomics. VG10 steel is decent IMO, especially for something small and light use.
