Hey whats up? Can anyone recommend a manual sharpener that can be used for a variety of knives? I have Hawkbill blades, clip point, tanto, serrated etc. Thanks. :)

Spyderco Sharpmaker is a good way to start especially for touching up serrations and recurve blades. You also should look at the Edgepro for reprofiling and the Worksharp WSKTS belt grinder.

that Spyderco Sharpmaker is exactly what i was looking for. Good call. Thanks. Im definitely picking one of those up.

If you're going to be re-profiling blades regularly they're a good addition. For normal sharpening if your blades are already profiled about where you want them, the stock kit will work just fine. The usual word of warning here, though. If your blade is not profiled between 30 and 40 degrees already, be prepared to spend a LOT of time on the Sharpmaker. It's not good at all at removing any quantity of metal. It's awesome for working an edge in short order, but if you need to knock the shoulders back, it's going to take a while.

If you just need to re-profile a blade on the rare occasion, what I did before I got my EdgePro was to just wrap the medium stones in wet-or-dry sandpaper from my local auto-body place. 320 makes VERY fast work of a reprofile, then stepping up a few grits through 800 or so smooths things out nicely, then onto the stock medium stone. :)
