Recommend adhesive for knife scales

What is the best adhesive for knife scales. Does the scale material change your adhesive recommendation ? Thanks for your help---Steve

some sort of epoxy works well, I still haven't found a real good local one though.

I would suggest a slow set epoxy.

If the black color doesn't turn you off and you have a store nearby, consider Golfsmith shafting epoxy (see Glue Wars thread.) I've been using it on my last few knives, and I find it to have a nice working time and to be economical compared to typical hardware store epoxies.

I asked Tracy Mickley, and he told me that the 30 minute epoxy that he sells under his name is the best out there at a decent price. I bought some, but I haven't tested it out yet. I believe he started selling this epoxy after seeing what was best in the Glue Wars. Here's a link:
