looking to start making small billets of damascus, i have basic ideas of how it works and temps involved. just need more knowledge. Plan on doing very small individual knife billets with probably w2 and 1084 maybe some 15n20 throw in the mix at times. Probably be doing can welding as i dont like the thought of smashing hot steel with stuff that can splatter on it, just seems cleaner to do also. One question i not sure of on the can weld is do u press the can with the billet in it to set the weld or does weld set itself do to no oxygen in can.
