Recommend Large Folder.

I have two Kershaw 1725 CB - JYDII with D2 edge. Fantastic - and available well under the $100 mark, usually around $65 + s/h. Spend the rest on a Wally World basic Buck 110 - and lunch. At least one of those two knives will make you 'smile like a possum eatting poop from a hairbrush' (Don't ask... it's an old southern saying.).

If you shop around you might be able to find a G10 Spyderco Endura for $100. You could certainly find the FRN version for less than that.
 
A large folder under $100? The Endura, sure, but you might consider the CRKT M-21. The aluminum version is a very solid and reliable knife and you can get it for less than $60.
 
If you are not interested in the "cool" facet of a large folder, may I recommend the Ka-Bar mule. Reasonable price and built like a tank.:D
 
Safe bets are the Benchmade 710 and Military.

I don't recommend liner-locks anymore, so that leaves the 710.

BTW - I use the 710 as my "base" upon which to judge other knives and think the design is hard to beat for EDC, some designs are better in some areas and some designs are just plain worse. And, the 710 can be had for a $100 delivered.

Been playing with a SOG Elite and Cold Steel American Lawman of late and these seem acceptable for EDC.
