Recommend me a Case

Yikes. I went looking around the Newgraham website at those ATS-34 and 154CM offerings. Talk about a price premium! It's looking more and more narrowed down to the chestnut bone CV Trapperlock. That is one sweet traditional, with the features I want and a price that only exceeds my target by twenty dollars. Thanks for all the recommendations. No problemo with blade discoloration. In fact, that's something I actually miss a little. Back before I became a knife enthusiast, I could usually be found carrying an Old Timer stockman with carbon blades. That's pretty much what I grew up with.

And yes, I'm interested in other brands. But I want at least one Case. I have a little stag AG Russell barlow lockback but it needs an American made buddy to share EDC rotation duties.

Trapperlock it will have to be then, as it's the only one fulfilling your er, stringent requirements.

On the other hand, a couple of others present themselves if you open up a bit. An Amber Bone Large Stockman in cv is a very good big knife giving you 3 blades to use.
Slimline Trapper in Redbone cv single blade is a very pocket friendly authentic work-knife.A Medium Stockman in Bonestag or Chestnut cv is not to be overlooked either. CASE knives from this century tend to be of very good quality.

It's around $150-$175,depending on where you buy it.

Now what did you have to go and post that for? What a breathtakingly beautiful knife! Sheesh. My wife would freak if she caught me with that thing. Everything about it screams "I'm very expensive!" Totally out of my price range but it's a good sign that Case is able and willing to produce pimped versions of their workin' models. That says a lot. Sweet looking knife.
