Need a new EDC beater: 2.5 - 3" blade, less than $30, that's not a CRKT Drifter. Also preferably not from Kabar, Spyderco, Benchmade, Cold Steel, or Ontario. Kinda in the mood to try a new brand

Kershaw Barrage. You can get them at Wal-Mart and they are great knives for the money. You might look at some Boker Plus stuff, but I doubt you'll find them better then the Barrage.

I guess Kershaw is what you're looking for :) They have several that might work for you.

Now mind you he did rule out most of the reasonably priced good EDC with that:p

Haha, yes I realized that too. More challenging and fun for the knife gurus! ;)

The barrage looks great, but is a bit out of my budget. I've bought too many knives recently and need a beater priced like a beater. I'm thinking Buck Bantam BLW so far.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Kershaw Skyline. I'm not sure how much of a "beater" it is but a lot of people love it as an EDC.

The Skyline is a beater. I know a mechanic/welder that has carried one for a year and tried his best to destroy the edge....a sharpening later and it's back to work.

Many Victorinoxes. Anything from Rough Rider. Case Sodbuster. byrd (Does that fall under the no spyderco part?).

Boker Trance
Kershaw Skyline
Buck Vantage Avid/Select
Buck Bantam

Way to strip away tons of the good brands =P

Like flashpoint said, Boker Trance. Great knife for the $.

Not a fan of CRKT really but the M21 and M18 aren't bad (I have a M18). A M21 with 3" blade of 8Cr14MoV w/ g10 handles is $27 +/-.

Rough Rider. for $30, you can get 2-3 and they are not junk knives.

Victorinox, and you get other useful tools, too. Lots of models to choose from in your price range.
