check out Entrek knives as well. Hand-made, 440C steel, canvas micarta scales, and kydex sheath for a very fair price. I use a Cobra model for a hunting knife and it has been outstanding!

Lot's of great hunters out there. Do you want a pure cutter or a thicker bladed more general purpose type knife? Then what blade shape do you want? Semi-skinner (tough to beat for dressing) & drop point are my favorite blade styles for a hunter.

one of the knives in my collection that I'm really happy with, that I actually use, is a Glock field knife. black, has sawteeth. the sheath is simple but ingenious.
this knife has been through some rough use.
i'm very happy with it.
keep in mind- I own other knives, from Randall, spydercol, cold steel, CRKT, and even Microtech automatic. This glock knife still impresses.

Smokey Mountain knives have a Scharade Extreme survival for seventeen dollars, shipping included. I have one . Its a thick bladed knife , much heavier than a USMC Kabar. Seventeen Bucks. I use the hell out of mine. It is sharp and easy to touch up. Seventeen dollars !!! Plus you get a folding box knife to boot. Heres the link.
