Hi folks

I'm looking to commission a few knives of my own design. I have already drawn templates which should save some cost.

The knives I want made are Persian style bowies, full tang, fixed blade, oal 7-12 inches, made from 1095 or 1084 which are both pretty and functional (I.e good heat treatment)

I'm hoping to pay no more then $500 for the larger 10 & 12 inch knives including leather sheaths and say less then $300 for the small neck knife.

Looking for a reputable maker with proven track record.

Example sketch

Thanks for your time :)

Kieran Klein at Hammer Down Forge could be a strong possibility, he posts on the forums here from time to time but is reachable through his website easily. Giedymin, a Polish maker here on the forums, may also be someone to look into. They have both worked on knives I have sketched before, their fit & finish, & customer service were top notch.

Have already emailed bona, his prices are way above my budget unfortunately :(

Many thanks f3d4ykin, have heard of giedymin before - your recommendation is much appreciated!!

If anyone else has suggestions, please do say! I want 3 knives made to start with, will order more knives going forwards. So I'll be good business :)

Appreciated, giedymins now on my shortlist :)

Now have funds to increase budget to $700 per knife. Any other recommendations welcome, I like being spoils for choice!!

Apologies for posting this thread in the wrong section, my mistake. Thanks for the interest mr richards, have taken note of your email address :)
