Recommend me a titanium framelock...

Ooops, I missed the $$$. I just noticed now. Sorry about that........In that case, I too would suggest one of the green, blue or grey Kershaw Bumps.

In that price range I think the skirmish is a good knife. You can also look for a benchmade pinicale on the after market. For around that price you may also be able to find a emerson cqc-12 which I really enjoy. I also saw somewhere that had an alias with half g-10 but I can't recall where.

I'd say a Emerson HD- 7, that is one strong Ti framelock. I know it's out of your pr, but IMO it's worth it. Hands down the strongest locking folder I have.

The only framelock I have experience with in the price range you mention is the Bradley Alias. It has been mentioned a few times already. I find it to be a decent knife. The ergos are good and the materials are topshelf. I don't like the blade shape. That said, it is a functional knife.
:)

I recently purchased a CRKT S2, which meets most of your criteria... it is a fine knife that can be had for $50 or so (if you can find one). Blade is ATS34 at about 3.5 inches I think.

I think you'd be very happy with the big CRKT S2. I've got one and it is super solid and locks up tighter than a vault. Great value for the money. Ti-scales, frame lock, ATS-34, and $50 or so ... what's not to like? :)

Kershaw Ti Bump! No doubt! S30V Steel, Titanium Frame lock, Speedsafe action, <$150!!!! Great Knife:

mmm... lots of interesting ones guys... the Kershaw Bump seems to have quite a following.... actually contemplated getting the S2 when they were available a while back.. but somehow the shape of the blade wasn't that appealing

May go back and take a look at it again.. maybe it'll grow on me...:)

Have not heard of the Viper.. will search around for it...

No one has any opinions on the Tighe Tactical from Lone Wolf??

get an emerson..commander or super cqc7 (I think they are about $160 from new graham)

I purchased a new Spyderco titanium ATR last summer and I like it a lot. It has a form of the Compression Lock that is, in reality, a frame lock on the back of the handle, except that it is, IMO, more secure than a standard frame lock. It also has an S30V blade. You really should look into trying to find one, used or new.

Is the S2 the name of the knife? I can't seem to find it. I really like crkt knives except for their steel. I still carry my m1 everyday, but wish it would hold an edge longer.

They are discontinued, but you find them often on the sale forums (look at Thread Lock Sale II) for ~$50, which I think is pretty ridiculous.

I had a Large S-2 and it was absolutely the sharpest knife I'd ever owned and this includes samplings from both Kershaw and Spyderco, with *great* edge holding. A great beefy workhorse and I loved it to bits, but I traded it away because I found myself EDCing smaller, lighter, more sheeple-friendly knives and I wanted a Gamecube. :D But definitely the best bang for the buck and a number of people consider it better than the titanium Benchmade (I forget its name). Only thing I didn't like about it was the clip (and for that price you can afford to get say a STR custom clip).

Also, I've heard good things about the SOG Titanium Vision.

Both the SOG and the CRKT are ATS-34.

Just for the heck of it... I jumped on the S2 in the FS forum...:D :D :D

But still looking for some more.... you see... my BM Monochrome with a framelock spoilt me rotten... its practically a FB when opened.. no wiggle.. none whatsoever... so am gonna see if its the lock that plays a part... cos even my BM axis somehow don't feel that solid...

The A G Russells look good as well.. still waiting to hear opinions on the Tighe Tactical by Lone Wolf..

Thumbs up on the Emerson HD-7, Strider SnG and Buck Mayo TNT.

One of those three is my EDC about 90% of the time.

On a related note, why are there some claims that a framelock is a potentially stronger lock than a liner lock.. aren't the 2 locks essentially similar in function and application?? Whay are framelocks discussed in a different breath from liner locks??

There are other whole threads on that subject, but in short is comes down to when you grip them very hard or "white knuckle" them as I have heard it put. When you do this with a frame lock, you push the lock in the direction of engagement, in essense making it tighter. Since the liner lock has a slab in front of the lock, this doesn't happen, and actually if you try it you will see that your hand actually tends to try and push the lock in the direction of disengaging.

Its hard to explain in words, but easily demonstrated if you try it.
