Hi everyone. I would like to thank all of you for your contributions to this forum. After many weeks of research for my next blade, I am decided on a BK16. I have considered many vendors online and would like to hear your suggestions. (edited)

I don't know much about all the online vendors, but I am located in San Diego, CA and if there are any local vendors you might recommend that would be great. (edited)

Thanks again everyone, I am looking forward to becoming a Beckerhead in the near future. :D

Tomars is great to work with and priced reasonable. They also support BF

Thanks everyone. These replies are helpful, keep them coming. :) I am also wondering about a fire bow spindle bearing divot in a handle scale like an Esee 5 and some Tops knives have. Anything like that available for the BK16?

Thanks....good ingo on trusted vendors. Any suggestions for vendors who ship to APO addresses? Thanks

I'd also recommend you brush up on the forum rules, since I'm pretty sure this thread is going bye-bye for deal-spotting whenever a mod spots it. In the meantime, Tomars.

He is asking about where the best price is and has posted a link to a vendor that isn't a bf paid vendor. The link is to the cheapest price he could find..........seems like a form of deal spotting to me.

ok I can see your point. thank you for your answer. I tried to get him to look in the exchange for one of our dealers to sale to him.

Thanks for the heads up guys. I edited my original post and removed the link. I wasn't aware of the rules you mentioned as this was my first thread started at BF. Thanks again.

No worries. I tend to prefer to read the rules before I post anything at all. Generally a bad idea to start off a forum registration by breaking the rules and bringing yourself to the attention of the mods, right? Fortunately, this is a very casual sub-forum.

Give this a look: it's got links to the various general rules. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/faq.php

Also, good choice on the 16. That's a great blade. 10, 9, 16, RBK, and 5 are probably the mainstays of my collection.

Thanks. I honestly didn't think I was deal spotting, but I can see how it may have appeared that way to a few of you.
Here is what is posted in the FAQ link for No deal spotting:
"Yes, we know you found a great price on the Ninja Disembowel 4000 at SuperPriceMART. We don't care. We'd prefer you support the dealers who support BladeForums.com.

As such, we don't allow deal spotting because otherwise the forums would be a quagmire of "deals" (real or imagined) posted everywhere, or unscrupulous people posting "deals" for non paying dealers. So don't do it."

The title of this thread is "Recommend me a vendor for purchasing a BK16", not "Jump on this great deal on a BK16!".
I really wanted to know which are good vendors to support which also provide a decent price. I have gotten that response from many of you and thank you very much for your help!

I have been a member of many forums both past and present in many different disciplines where posting a link like I did is not frowned upon so heavily.
I think I understand how my first post in this thread may have come across the wrong way to some of you and I apologize sincerely to those of you who assumed I was deal spotting.
I try to usually read all the rules, but obviously did not read every last one carefully enough before posting.
Although it may be somewhat presumptuous, I felt that my first posted thread would be received with a little more grace like I have experienced and imparted in the other forums I have been actively involved in for many years. I especially thought that BF would be even more gracious since I saw this in the FAQ, "First & foremost, remember the golden rule: Do unto others as you would have done unto yourself, in other words, BE NICE. When you are polite to people, they will tend to be polite back to you."

I really enjoy the postings I have seen in this forum and appreciate all the useful collaboration I have seen so far.
I am very excited to purchase BK16 in the near future and hope that I can be as useful and helpful as all of you have been thus far.
Thank you for welcoming me to BF!

I've gotten some from Amazon, Fleabay and Tomar's. For the money, you can't go wrong with Tomar's. They appreciate your business, the price is right, fast shipping and you can rest assured that what you get will be 100% genuine.
