How about a Citizen EcoDrive? The EcoDrive is better than an automatic, IMO.

I have an Eco-Drive and a Luminox along with a Bulova. GET AN ECO-DRIVE.
If you're interested, and don't mind shopping around, you can find a older classic Omega Seamaster for that amount. I'm guessing Oris or Ball may have one up your alley as well.
