Recommend me an EDC fixed blade.

Upper end of your budget, but worth it - Bradford G3

I would second LT Wright. Frontier Valley w/o sheath $69. Then have them make their taco kydex sheath $55. Out the door for $124.
I don't work for LT Wright Knives, but I have had some interactions with LT and his crew, good people.

The Bradford G-Necker (Elmax) is one of the few that comes to mind, but you'd have to put a handle on it. There's also the White River M1 Pro Backpacker (S35VN blade and G10 handle), which is a tiny bit over length, but still very small.

I actually have a G-necker on the way, should be here Monday but I think it will be too small. I have the Backpacker saved as it is close to what I want.

I was trying to avoid naming names because I've purchased from a number of makers; but you're looking for M.McAlevy M.McAlevy . I don't know if he does kydex, and I'm pretty sure he's a little over your budget; but you owe it to yourself to at least look.
He's making the fixed blade I plan to pair with my small 31.

Here's an example of his work (pic from his ad)

(I asked for a slightly longer handle, and he said that was no problem)

I've been doing a pretty deep dive on small knives over the last year or so, to overfill a void in my collection. The White River Backpacker was among the ones that felt best in the hand among the American made ones. The other small fixed blades I've really liked have either been from Italy (MKM, Viper, Lion Steel) or Boker (who seem to have a fixation with tiny fixed blades, except for the Arobolito sub-brand made in Buenos Aires).

That is a good looking knife.

I agree about thinking about your overall size.
Having a nice 3.5-4" handle is going to give you a dinky, less useful blade. If 6" is what you want?

Here is a knife I'm almost done rough grinding now, as we speak....
It has what I'm calling a 4" handle.
It's what I'd call a small medium knife. It's 8.25" overall.
This size is a Perfect do all edc size/style.

Just thinking about requested sizes

I have knives this size and have carried them before but I'm looking for something lighter and easier to carry. I plan to use a Ulticlip and not be stuck with having to use a belt.

maybe you can get a JK from the secondary market. did you say you have a White River backpacker on hold? Some really good working knives are made by Redsquid2 here in the forums, also look for some Thomas O’Neill knives.

A Spyderco Mule/scale/sheath combo would be an excellent choice but probably will exceed the $150 limit, unless you can find one used on the Exchange or EB.

Here's a pic of a few of mine:

Top to bottom: 1) Magnacut, 2) Z-Wear, 3) LC200N, 4) M390 & 5) S45VN. Also have a S90V and a S110V, not pictured.

I would go with a Bradford Guardian in a length that seems best to you. Probably a 3.5 or 4. Multiple fantastic steels available, and they stand behind their work. Some are a bit past your stated budget, but not by much.

I had a Guardian 3 but the handle was too small. I am limited to 3.5 inches for conceal carry in my state.

Thanks for all the good suggestions. I found a knife that was very near perfect in what I was looking for though I did have to up my budget.
I went with the BMKT EDC1 with natural micarta handles and the bowie blade profile.
