Recommendation for a high quality small EDC blade

I've been a Benchmade fan for 15 years, ever since I discovered them, and I've been in a search for a new one for EDC. I haven't found what I'm looking for but after reading all of the support on these forums for the PM2 I drank the Koolade and ordered one for myself. It isn't an impressive LOOKING knife but hopefully its performance will live up to its reputation.

After thinking about this a bit I am going to suggest an alternative for the OP's use. It would be nice to have a nice folding knife as a gift that you could use for EDC, but OTOH an EDC gets used and beat up and maybe lost or stolen. For a knife that you can keep and appreciate for a long time, maybe you don't want something for an EDC. For something that could become an heirloom maybe you want to buy a nice custom fixed blade that you can take out and look at and remember the thought behind the gift.

I understand the logic, but I'm pretty careful with my blades. Yes I use them hard, but I am checking on them constantly. I pat my pocket at least five minutes, and they always ride nice and deep in my pocket so they dont get lost. That being said, if for instance I lost my BM 940, damn right I'd be mad but knives for me should never be safe queens. I love to beat up a blade and see how it performs, so when I get my sage 1 (Finally managed to choose a blade after I held one in hand) its going to get used heavily.
