The knife in your link is a trainer (unsharpened) - and that's a good idea for a beginner. You can also get that same knife in a sharpened model (for the same price). It'll have the same weight and feel, so it should be an easy transition from the trainer to the real deal. Once you get good, check out Benchmade's selection of bali's - some of the best production quality available, IMHO (I've owned several, and they were all outstanding).
