Recommendation for first Spyderco?

I have been collecting Benchmades for quite a while now, and I have thought about trying something different for a change. I thought that Spyderco, being the respected company it is, would be a good place to look.

I myself have thought about either a lightweight Endura or a lightweight Delica. It will most likely have a PE.

Anyone else think that the two aforementioned knives are good candidates for my first Spyderco?

Can't go wrong with either of those two, everyone who has them seems to like them. At the risk of making the decision that much harder, would also suggest considering the Native I, my personal favorite FRN handled Spydie.

Yeah Delica will be great for 1st Spydie ;) ...Endura if you like bigger knives :P

Greets...

I second that motion. It was my first Sypdie after a whole slew of Benchmades. It's a great knife!

Get the Endura (if you want a 4 inch blade), or the Delica (if you want a 3 inch blade), but if you REALLY want to be totally blown-away, get a stainless one rather than FRN...You'll really wonder why they aren't priced in the $100 range. (To me, the lightweight FRN models feel "cheap", eventho they ARE quality knives.).

Look online, should be able to get both the endura and delica in FRN for around 100usd and shipping. Newest models are vg-10. One for each side.

Hey, I would suggest that you first do some homework and visit www.spyderco.com and see the different specs on the knives and other information offered there at the website. Then pick several types of spyderco knives that interest you and look at the different variations offered for that type in blade and handle. A good place to shop for a spyderco is definitely ebay if you do not have a local dealership. My first spydie was a PE Delica Black FRN handle that was a GIN-1 blade. I purchase this knife sometime back in college around 1996 or so. Recently, I've begun to collect spyderco knives in the last year or so, and I have found that the Delica is good for every day use. But I have found my preference has been the Spyderco Natives. I like the way they perform, feel, and look. Of course, I am bias now even though I like all spydies I've gone 'native'. I hope this helps you out in making your decision. If you have any more questions just keep posting here I'm sure use spyderco junkies will give you the 411 you need to make a sound choice. Good luck!

The Delica was my first, blue is nice if you can find one. The Spyderhawk is pretty boffo too. Around Christmas time there should be a Spyderco balisong I think you'll like.

can't go with a delica or endura, the one spyderco i really like though is the lum chinese folder

If you are an BM AFCK man, then you need an S30V Military to really compare the essence BM and Spyderco.

Thats the thing though, I want something different. I am still thinking either the Endura or Delica. The Native doesnt seem like I would enjoy it. I am going to try and go to some stores today to see them in person.

Well, I hope you actually seeing some of the knives in person will help you compare them and see what you like and so forth just let us spydie junkies know if you have any more questions!
