Recommendation - Griptilian Alternatives

Overall, looking at all of these, the mini presidio seems to be the best bet. Ideal weight, size, and quality. Plus, the cost added to the grippy with a deep carry makes it about the same price anyway.

Great budget alternatives: Civivi Sokoke in 14C28N or Imperium in Nitro-V.

How is the quality on Hogue? I don't really know much about them outside of their gun parts. I have hogue parts on my 870. My buddy is a 2A enthusiast, so that's a nice angle. And yes - I vaguely know about the whole story with Benchmade along these lines - probably don't need to dig it up here.
My experience has been very good. I carry a Deka nearly every day, and my RSK gets a lot of play as well. Smooth, comfy, good steel, solid lock. Lots to like.

I have a regular Griptilian which I like quite a bit. I would LOVE a Ritter RSK as I think the blade shape is superior to the standard Griptilian drop point. That would be my vote to replace your friend's lost know. Same shape, size, feel, and function but an upgrade in in steel and blade shape.

Hogue RSK & Mini Presidio are excellent recommendations. I'd throw the newer BM Redoubt into the mix as well.. checks all your boxes (i think..). It has a lot in common with the Grip, imo, and has a nice, newly designed (first BM with this style, i believe) deep carry clip.. color scheme may be a +/- depending on preferences..

The TRM Atom is a GREAT knife, btw.. but if you know your buddy is keen on the axis lock, that style may be a better choice for him..

If your friend loves the Griptilian, I'd bet he would really love a Super Freek too. Great knife.

The Bugout is an awesome knife. Lightweight but still made well, handle is a little slimmer than the Griptillian but it is a great edc option

Another Griptillian or a Mini Adamas. The Mini Adamas will be over 200 dollars though. I have 3 Griptillians, two in 20CV and the one in S30V with a black coated blade and olive green handles. Don't know if you can get them anymore, though.

Ontario Rat1 or Rat2. Perfectly fits the stats you listed; it’s $50, made out of D2, and has an extremely solid construction. Absolutely recommend it.

I have a Griptillian in 20CV and love the action. The only other thing I have with action that good is a Kizer Drop Bear. Several places carry them although Kizer has some VERY interesting upgrades including fat carbon and ELMAX steel. Mine has the standard 154CM which is terrific for the price (around $100) and aluminum scales. There is also micarta and titanium available. Good luck.

Sorry, lots of pics..

I would highly reccomend both the Hogue Ritter RSK and the BM Mini Presidio 2 as mentioned above. I would also recommend the BM Freek/Mini Freek. Dont currently have an Atom, but the Neutron 2 is still my overall most carried folder of the last couple of years..

Love all of mine, with a slight overall edge going to the Neutron 2 then the Ritter..

Do you still like the Neutron 2 over your crossbar lock knives?

I know you require thumb studs, but have a look at the Syderco K390 Stretch. From my perspective, the Delica beats the Bugout, the Griptilian beats the Endura, but the K390 stretch beats them all.
