Recommendation on an AXIS lock

I have never held a benchmade in my hand, but recently on another thread, I saw a pic of the 585 mini barrage. It looks to be ideal size, with a blade shape I really like. Would anyone recommend this knife the me or the OP?

It does seem pricey though, considering I have a kershaw blur with anodized alum handles in ZDP for less.

Thanks.

The BM 530 is a possibility. The blade is about 3.25" but it is very slim and carries well.

I took a red 942 with a CM-154 reverse tanto blade in it and swapped the blade for an S30V clip point blade. I love the combination, and it doesn't look threatening. I can flick it open and shut, but I typically do so only when no one is around.

The OP wouldn't want it because it's AO. However, I really like the Axis assist. Opens up Fast and Hard and locks up like Ft. Knox.

710. Beautiful and decent steel. Not too tactical looking and all around great knife.

My default recommendation for an Axis lock knife is the 14205, but that's a little more thick and rugged than you may want in the office. Though the blade is less than 3.5" (3.4" to be precise) so it may do the trick. It is by far my favorite Axis lock knife, despite my preference for larger knives.

If you want something that looks a little less like a tank, go for the 940, very classy, lots of blade options. One of them will probably suit your needs.

Well, you can get it considerably less than MSRP at online retailers if you know the right way to do it.

I have the 585 and I really like it. If my mini-Grip isn't in my pocket, then my 585 is. The OP doesn't want an AO, so I didn't list it.

My current favorite axis lock is the Benchmade 5000 Presidio. It's just the right size in my hand and it opens with authority. Current prices is around $159.

Oh, you said no AO's.

OK, since you like smaller knives, take a look at the SOG Stingray 2.0. I have the Mother of Pearl version and I doubt it would scare anyone. It's a really nice little knife. Sells for around $198 and has a 3" blade.

Don't forget the Benchmade 14210 in the H&K line. Sub 7" knife, AXIS lock, Snody design, G10 and liners, 154CM, only weighs about 3 oz. Be sure to check this one out. IMO, the 14205 and 14210 are the two most underrated Benchmades there are. They're kinda like hidden gems in the H&K line.
