I am an aspiring knifemaker (current knife collector). I just purchased a gold membership on the forum and really enjoy all the good information I have found. so here is my inquiry and would appreciate any recommendations. I am planning to make a limited run of small linerlock folders - say 10-25 initially. I have been thinking about the design for a while and just started to draw some prototypes. I have a full time job and work long hours so I have decided to outsource several components of the knife. For example I plan to have the handle and liners waterjet from Great Lakes Waterjet. So here are my questions:

-do any suppliers or custom makers grind/heat treat folder blades for other makers. I am interested in doing the finish work on the blade but do not have the equipment or aptitude to grind the blade myself.

-do any companies actually provide the service of custom making the components of a knife that you design?

-if I have the handles, liners, and blades waterjet/ground to my specs what equipment would I need to finish the knife paying particular attention to fit/finnish and maximizing efficiency. I have a pretty good budget so purchasing quality equipment that would save time and produce the best possible end result is not a problem. Any equipment recommedations?

Appreciate any thoughts. Best regards, John
