Anything LG! I also enjoy slow rolling my Emersons.
Just happen to have one of each on me today. I prefer thumb disks for slow rolling.
Hey gang, Looking for a folder with the following in mind: I really prefer to slow roll/washers feel of a knife. I dont flip/flick or whatever. Ive always tended towards lock back spydercos, but also like the feel of a Strider SNG a friend sent to me. I am looking for a knife in that SNG/Endela middle ground size that is good at slicing and has a nice slow roll. Looking for a Frame Lock I think. I have tried CRK Sebenza/Inkosi over the years and I dont seem to get on with their Thumb studs (I have to think about it too much). I like the SNG but not the handle/Blade/Choil ratio. I dont need anything super hard use, preference on slicing over prybar. Thoughts/discussion very welcome.
Spydercos are fairly easy to swap scales, just get the knife with desired scales and the desired blade and swap and them and sell the other one.I have degenerative joint/skeletal disease/disorder, and thumb stud openers are a no-go for me. I can manage a flipper on a small knife like the Leek, but the PM2 with canvas micarta scales is my favorite. I have one in S90V which I like even better than Cruwear as far as sharpness and edge retention, but it has (to me) ugly bright turquoise scales that have fairly sharp edges which I dislike. I'd love to have a PM2 in S90V with brown canvas Micarta scales.
Please bear in mind that although I've carried a pocketknife for 67-68 years or so and have used them daily, I've only recently been introduced to modern "super steels" ... but I'm loving them. When my hands were steady, sharpening a knife freehand was an almost daily practice. Now, I'm better off using some type of sharpener that forces the edge angle I want, and thus I like knives that will hold an edge.
DAMN SKIPPY!!!!!!......Slow roll on washers? Sere 2K. No doubt, hands down. It isn’t a framelock but it’s every bit as stout, and the buttery smoothness of that opening will put a smile on your face every time.
