Recommendation- Small tough folding knife

check out the spyderco tuff. cpm 3v is pretty wicked. kinda surprised no one mentioned this one I thought it was really popular

It wouldn't hurt checking out the Lion Steel SR2. I have a titanium version and consider it the most stout 3" framelock I've owned to this point. The single piece titanium handle is pretty unique for production knives as well.

I like the look of the grayman dua as well as the three sisters forge beast. Does anybody have any experience with either? Or preferably both and which one you like better?

I have a couple of Duas, it is a very tough knife. Great blade shape, bank vault lock up. I don't know the difference in weight specifically but the Titanium is noticeably heavier than the G10. Some don't like the edge Grayman puts on them. I think I read somewhere they like a "sticky sharp" edge at Grayman.

Thanks a lot that was very helpful. That's a nice looking knife! I think I'm leaning towards the g10 dua. How long did it take to get it once you ordered from them?

Less than a week, Sue is great at Grayman (it is literally a mom & pop operation). They have fantastic customer service too. I am on the waiting list for a carbon fiber Dua when they are completed later this year.

Sounds good, you should get a commission because you just sold a knife for them! Haha thanks for the help can't wait til I get mine:)

I'll throw in a Lionsteel Sr-2. It is just a tad longer. The blade lenght is 3.125 inch. The aluminium version is around 180$ and the titanium version is around 379$. It is an absolutely gorgeous integral knife and can take a lot!

Brous Bionic is nice. D2, flipper, aluminum handles, $150ish. 3" blade, very slim.

I think the CRK Small Sebenza, Lionsteel Ti Spine, Spyderco Sage 2 Ti, Spyderco Gayle Bradley, Benchmade Mini Ritter Griptilian, and Kershaw Blur could all be contendors here...and the ZT0566 and Benchmade Volli if you will go a little bigger. A 3 inch XM-18 could too, but they sell way about their $350 MSRP usually. I am a huge fan of the Benchmade 705 and 707. While they are capable of bigger tasks, they are designed more for EDC than heavy utility usage (such as the Ritter Griptilian or ZT0566, which you can beat the absolute piss out of).

Based on your stated usage, it sounds like you want a tough steel over a steel with extreme edge retention. In such a case, CPM-M4 is hard to beat. It's tough as hell, AND has excellent edge retention. So in that sense, the GB gets a +1. While I would not advise any prying with any knife (a small pocket titanium pry bar or ti card is best for this), I'd much rather do it with a M4 blade than most other steels found commonly on folders.
