Recommendation: Thin EDC choices under $35

In another thread someone pointed out that the Kershaw Leek is comparable to a Delica in slicing capabilities. I'm sure you can find one around your asking price.

+1 on the Ruike P801. Thin profile in the pocket, full flat grind, decent steel, smooth flipping, deep carry clip. Checks all the boxes for edc bliss.

Make that + 2! After reading several delighted recommendations here on BF, I decided to buy one for myself. Boy am I glad I did! This knife is extremely well-made, and has a couple of pretty cool little details that usually get left behind on less expensive knives.

I like the blued, deep carry clip a lot as it makes the knife go away when I carry it in my blue jeans. The blade is full flat grind, sharpens well and holds an edge great. (Much to my surprise!) The blade is long enough to be useful and it takes a really wicked edge. I eased back the bevels just a bit more than the ones that came from the factory and it slices very well now.

And so thin it disappears in my pocket. Fit and finish are great, lockup is great, steel is great, and flips great after using it for month. The guys here are right. This knife is a steal, and even for a higher price would still pitch way out of its league.

Anyone tried a Kershaw injection?

I have the Injection 3.5. I bought it under recommendation here. It is a great knife for the money. Well made, opens one handed with the thumb studs, and the handle feels great. It is available on sale for $13.99 at BladeHQ. Unbelievable deal!

My first three thoughts have already been posted.
1. Ontario Rat 1. I'd highly suggest saving up a few more dollars for the D2 version.
2. ESEE Avispa.
3. Victorinox Sentinel.

Cold Steel Pro LIte (I like the clip point). Blade is thicker then a Delica tho

I also have the Kershaw Injection 3.0 and it's a fine knife. Good EDC, esp for the price.

Kershaw Chill, Injection are below your $35

Rat 2 in upcoming D2 steel is what I would choose for a little more than $35

I cannot believe nobody has suggested any of the Tangram knives. I have the Amarillo and Santa Fe, and the manufacturing quality is just ridiculous considering they cost $60 total. They now have a new button lock folder out too. Thin and slicy, the Acuto 440 feels like a good 440C (tad easier to sharpen), and they are just all around great.

The longer kershaw amplitude is very slicey with a full hollow grind. Those Al-mar kershaws have also looked nice but I haven't seen one in person. I think kershaw is your most likely options in that price range.

If you're okay with 2-hand opening, the maserin plow from collectorknives.net is a great option. Traditionals tend to have the thinner blades but you're going to lose a pocket clip and one-hand opening most of the time. Modern folders tend to have thicker blades, seems like 2.5mm to 3mm or up are the common thickness, especially over 3" blades.

Have I got the knife for you, the Kizer Tangram series. They have a few new models I bought the Santa Fe, what a great knife for the money. They have a few different models to choose. They are light and sharp as hell.
You can only buy them @ 1 place and I can't say who but if you do a search you will find them easily.

You lost me at “Not a Spyderco”

Lol, dont get me wrong there is love in my heart for Spyderco's - i have an FRN endura, delica, and dragonfly, and SS ladybug. Used to own G-10 Cat, FRN ladybug, and G-10 dragonfly but sold them when i was low on cash. Just want to try something else.

These are very nice cheaper knives I own. The Kershaw cqc7k Emerson collab is the bigger one. It is one of my all time favourite less expensive knives. The quality is amazing, and for some reason it gets STUPID sharp. It is thin and an absolute pleasure to carry and use.

I was looking at these - used to own the smallest cqc (1K i think?) but found its smallness a little hard to handle. So im still open to one, but not a big fan of tanto blades.

It looks like the 6K the same as the 7K but with a clip point blade. Do you agree?

That looks nice and the price is right! How does the closed thickness compare to a delica?

The cqc6k is the exact same knife as the cqc7k only with a clip point. I had a cqc6k and gave it to my friend because he loved it.
