I had Tom sharpen my SOG SEAL fixed blade. It took 10 minutes and cost me $10. The knife is now so sharp that it will effortlessly slice through thick leather. His shop is great to visit too. Lots of knives for sale and many custom knives that he makes himself. I had a great experience with Veff and I'm pretty much just going to have all my knives sharpened by him from now on.

If you are near Portland, OR, I recommend him highly!

I second that recommendation! I have been going to Tom for years and it is a pleasure to watch him make my knives Zen-sharp. Besides being the inventor of the Veff serration and The Veff stepped sharpening rod he always has a new blade related idea that he is will to share with you.
 
Tom showed me his 2 Spyderco Police folders that he keeps on him at all times. Have you seen them? He's polished the blades to a mirror-like finish. It's incredible. I had him sharpen my mini rukus yesterday and man, it's ridiculously sharp. I cut some leather last night and it was cutting through butter.
