You gotta get a V! That knife has performed above and beyond for me. The v grind (IMHO) makes it more EDC useful, but it's still tough as nails. It's had a lot of pocket time (6 months straight EDC, then in regular rotation for the last year and a half) I've used it at work to cut CAT5 cable, punch holes through sheet rock, cut ceiling tiles (extremely abrasive material) and just about any other material you can think of. Just run it across the stones at the end of the day, and back to shaving sharp.I would go with the CQC-7 as it will draw the least attention for EDC use in an urban environment. Having said that, the environment you plan to EDC it in is a key factor of which to choose. Where do you plan to EDC it? Urban? Country? Backwoods? Office?
And yes, I agree, the 7v is my favorite 7 (even though I don't have one yet...)![]()
Don't get me wrong I do like modern and tactical knives I just tend to lean traditional more
Just out of curiosity, why does everyone say cqc7, what advantages does it have over the GJ?
Ya I do get this but if I like the GJ significantly more wouldn't I be better off going that route? Functionally is the GJ inferior?Perhaps because the CQC-7 is the quintessential Emerson. It is instantly recognizable as an Emerson and is really the one that started it all.
