Recommendation

Just everyday carry. I have a GEC 25 that I love and I wanna get a nice modern locking folder to compliment it for edc.

Those are very different in design. My opinion is you can never go wrong with any Emerson. I would look over the specs on each. Out of these choices I would pick, for myself, the cqc 7

the one you like. if it were me the 13 would be my pick, but i'm me and you are you.

Aesthetically I like the gentleman Jim the best but functionality matters more although I'm sure all are very fumctional, thanks for the input

I think for general EDC any of them would be perfectly functional, although I prefer the 7V over the standard 7. I say get whichever one you think looks the best.

CQC 7 for me. The tanto design is very useful and it is small enough and discreet enough that it would attract stares at work

I would go with the CQC-7 as it will draw the least attention for EDC use in an urban environment. Having said that, the environment you plan to EDC it in is a key factor of which to choose. Where do you plan to EDC it? Urban? Country? Backwoods? Office?

And yes, I agree, the 7v is my favorite 7 (even though I don't have one yet...) ;)

You gotta get a V! That knife has performed above and beyond for me. The v grind (IMHO) makes it more EDC useful, but it's still tough as nails. It's had a lot of pocket time (6 months straight EDC, then in regular rotation for the last year and a half) I've used it at work to cut CAT5 cable, punch holes through sheet rock, cut ceiling tiles (extremely abrasive material) and just about any other material you can think of. Just run it across the stones at the end of the day, and back to shaving sharp.

I love that knife. (can you tell?)

I live way out in the country so most of the time I'll carry whatever I want and even when I go out I'll still carry the emerson as I also will carry my GEC 25 that I can opt to use in public which is very sheeple friendly, I think I like gentleman Jim the best as I tend to lean towards traditionals but I see the functionality of modern folders and the gentleman Jim is the sleekest, least "tactical" of the emersons, aesthetically I really really like it.

The 13 has belly... it is the most traditionally practical of those you mention; that said, my CQC-13 typically gets left behind as I edc my Super 7.

Don't get me wrong I do like modern and tactical knives I just tend to lean traditional more

You really can't go wrong with any of them. The GJ is a nice knife. I would still opt more for the 7. If you want to add something else to look at, take a look at the CQC-15. I recently picked one up and I just love the looks and feel of it. Here's a pic of it compared to the CQC-7. To me, it seems to have just the balance between handle length vs. blade length. The blade also give you the best of both worlds between a tanto, like the CQC-7, and a recurve like the commander.

Just out of curiosity, why does everyone say cqc7, what advantages does it have over the GJ?

Perhaps because the CQC-7 is the quintessential Emerson. It is instantly recognizable as an Emerson and is really the one that started it all. From the Interwebs:

"The CQC-7 was actually based off of Emerson’s CQC-6 design (which is only available as a custom piece) and was licensed out to Benchmade in 1994. After that license expired, Emerson began producing the knife in his own factory. My point here is, this knife has been around the block. It’s a simple and brutally effective tool."

Ya I do get this but if I like the GJ significantly more wouldn't I be better off going that route? Functionally is the GJ inferior?
