I am looking for recommendations on a carbon fiber handled folder with a handle/closed length of approximately 3" or less. Production or Midtech will work. I need it to open bandages/dressing packages and other one time medical supplies in the field. Thanks.

Spyderco chaparral is 3.5 closed, you can deep carry it and operate fast with one hand. (Open and close). Very capable small knife. It's somewhat cf.

Case makes a littl CF lockback.
Less then an oz. Or the hiroato ohto friction folder
Also the cold steel lucky slip joint if a pocket clip is a priority? Or a Boker+ urban trapper petite.
All are just a bit over 3"

Boker+ brad zinker framelock is 3.5" and their SAK style (with a pocket clip) tech tools as well the Buck Apex about 3.75".

Let us not forget about the Cold Steel Lucky. ~ 3-1/4 inches closed.

Common guys don't be stingy with the photos . . .

It is a two blade but I took one off. I like to be able to make use of the finger grooves and a second closed blade prevents this.

Then they came out with the Lucky One which is a single balde.

it is a plane blade; not serrated.

Pretty darned nice knife. Strong positive spring/action (walk and talk) but not over done.

WARNING : handle the knife in person before you buy if possible. I have two and on one the edge of the blade colides with a handle screw and puts a ding in the edge. Not a big deal as mine are both used as serrated blades (one as a seat belt cutter and the other a discrete steak knife) so what’s one more serration . . . right ?
