Recommendations for “mean” knives

If they're just for looks while your hosting a sausage roasting with friends, why not go for rubbish that looks like they come from a b-rated science fiction film? Or if you want to spend money check out medford Boa-P anti personal knife
But that's 650.00
They're not just for looks. I use them for regular stuff. I just don't have many fantasies about slicing people's bellies open while walking down the street. Although we do have a ton of coyotes where I live, and we've got small kids and small dogs, so I can imagine myself going at a coyote with a knife.

No one should really fantasize about violence, but it would be foolish not to be ready for it. Never be a victim--- that aside, and coyotes hunt in packs. But apart from beating up on wild dogs, anything with an exaggerated tip and serrations would prove mean enough

This is a nasty blade to me, Native Chief.

current gym blade for the day.

The civilian by spyderco is a clear crowd favorite
Originally designed for operators during the cold War who didn't possess hand to hand combat training

"Mean" is in the eye of the beholder.

I own a wide variety of knives that would qualify depending on your personal definition. Some of my meanest knives are the smallest and least conspicuous.

The list is endless and I'm not going to feed the troll by offering any suggestions. If you are "serious" about such knives, you should already know where to find them or have the ability to search the Net for them.

Ok, I'll play but just for this one which I own and which I think is the "meanest" out of the over 360+ knives that are in my collection.

Start the video at 1:20. The blade is 4.6" long.

It doesn't get better than this!

Or, how about a Benchmade Morpho Model 51 Balisong? Just watch the guy's hand, not his belly. LOL! 🤣

He's not the greatest bali trickster but he's not bad. Certainly better than me. There are better bali tickster videos out there but this is the only one I could find right away using the Model 51. He's using Flytanium scales which have more mass and make doing the tricks easier.

Start at the beginning and end around 1:15:

I had this Lil’ Matriarch modded by the incredibly talented BOOMER52 BOOMER52 , thinking it would be my “meanest” knife.

I love it, but rarely carry it because a “mean” knife isn’t always the best choice for cutting an apple.

It may come as a shock to most of you, but on a daily basis, I encounter a lot more apples than Ninja Pirates.

Disappointing, I know. When the zombies come I’ve got this sweet, mean knife though…

Hackenslash Hackenslash those are some beautiful scales! I love Boomer52’s work, I’ve got a couple sets by him (the Matriarch 2 in my first post in this thread has his scales).
His work is amazing. I think he’s moving into making his own knives, but I’ve kinda lost touch.

I’m also really happy to have one of his early Delica/Para mods:

Other than the Yojimbo and Yojumbo, there's not a lot about Spyderco knives that makes them mean looking other than the ones with blacked out blades and murdery black handles and even then it's I guess it's trying to be threatening. I really like Spyderco knives for their utility as a slicey cutting tool, but I don't think of them as being particularly mean looking. And among the knives with blacked out blades and black handles, Cold Steel definitely has them beat nine ways to Sunday on the "Watch out for that guy! vibe.
