Recommendations for a $50-60-ish folder

Most of these knives should be at a store within driving distance. I'd suggest you find a local store and handle a few of these. I think the major differences with these knives are how they feel in your hand. I wouldn't worry about blade length as much as how it snuggles into your hand and rides in your pocket.

My Buck Vantage and my Kershaw Blur are my two favorite folders. The Blur feels slightly more bulky both in the hand and in the pocket than my Vantage to me. I think the Vantage is cheaper for comparable steels, too. But, the Blur has assisted opening, and I'm getting very fond of that. I think the Blur feels a little more solid, but I couldn't tell you why I think so.

I noticed you are looking for a new folder. What kind of knives have you had in the past? This would really help us out.

I am sorry to say it, but I did not like my Buck Vantage Pro. Its action wasn't smooth, I didn't care for the ergonomics, and the flipper would not deploy it without a healthy wrist flick. Sold it fast. It has good steel though.

I say Delica or Mini Grip. I own both and they are both top notch, working knives. I like the lock better on the Mini Grip, but prefer the Spydercos FFG grind. Its a toss up. Can't go wrong with either and everyone should own at least one or the other. In fact I would be willing to bet half the forum does.

I really appreciate your guys' posts. Thanks again.
I was basically looking for advice and other options outside the common suggestions.

Well, since my last post, I have bought a Spyderco Endura on the spur of the moment.
It has arrived, and... Wow. It's much bigger than I had expected. (That's what she said. )

I do like the weight of the knife compared to its size though (and the color options).

I think I should give this to a large friend and get myself a Delica (or designate it to camping kitchen duty).

Thanks again for your advice.
