I recommend Wayne Goddards Traditional Hunter ...One can get one from Diamond Blade...It uses a stirweld Friction Forge technology (D-2 on steriods)...The Rockwell on the edge is between 65 and 68 Rockwell and not brittle...The spine is usually between 42 and 45 rockwell. The welding process with the D-2 produces a super stainless edge due to the increased Chromium content within the ferrite. It can still be sharpened on the IC-11 or IC-6 stone from Tru Grit...This one was tested in Alaska field dressing Brown Bear...Waynes blade in particular did three of them and still shaved...No Joke...Me
