Recommendation? Recommendations for a knife that is not made for diving but can be used while diving?

Hello everyone, I love freediving from time to time. Taking a knife with me makes me feel safe. I have tried various diving knives so far. My personal opinion is that diving knives are terrible knives. Their hardness is very low and their sheats are generally useless. Their steel is bad compared to their cost. Not to mention the titanium ones, I think they are definitely not knives (I'm not talking about those that are custom produced and hardened in some way). They just look like knives. At least that's what I think about them. At the end of this search, I used Gerber DeFacto as a diving knife for a long time. I had no problems with the S30v coated knife, I cleaned it regularly and there were only minor deformations on the handle. I especially loved the sheath and the simple lock on the sheath but a while ago I gifted this knife to a friend of mine, diving was a real hobby for him and he was using a Labrax brand made in China (OEM). Therefore, I thought DeFacto would benefit him more than me. But now I'm left without a knife and I'm sure you'll have a better suggestion than DeFacto. There are people among you who are experts on every subject. I would be very happy if you could give me suggestions on this matter. I do not plan to go above $150, and low price and high performance would be a reason for preference in a product that I might lose. Also, I don't want it to be a folder. Thank you to everyone who will make suggestions.

Wildsteer Leviathan. N680 steel, very corrosion resistant. Extremely lightwight. NOT for prying, but very effective for cutting. Holds an edge very well.

Spyderco would do a fixed lcn wouldn't it?

It's a great knife, but it's beyond my budget for a knife I might lose. Moreover, I don't live in US, so when I buy it, it becomes even more expensive with extra taxes. Still, it's a great suggestion, I think I might consider it if I can't find anything else.

I carry a serrated Pacific Salt when I dive.
Or a serrated Atlantic Salt
Excellent knives but I'm looking for a fixed blade. Spyderco makes great fixed diving knives, but as I said, I need something I can use without thinking about it and not worry about it if it gets lost.

Any fixed blade in any steel with a synthetic or micarta handle can be used as a dive knife.
The sheath would of course have to be kydex or similar waterproof material.
Just need to do a freshwater washdown and dry after each use without fail. Stainless or not.
This was my dive knife in the 1980s-90s.

The SOG Seal Pup in either the current Aus8 or discontinued Aus6 would make a good land/dive knife. The serrations are a near must for cutting wet soaked rope.

It would help if you told us what local sea life you'll be fighting off while diving in the open ocean while holding your breath.

Something you'd use on a megalodon would be very different than what you'd want for the Kraken.
Out of curiosity, are you asking because there really is a difference or did you think it was a good joke? Sorry, English is not my first language, so sometimes I don't understand it. If it's the first one, I don't carry it to kill fish, I carry it to get rid of nets. Also, you only need a knife once at sea and if you don't have it with you, you'll never need it again. At least that's what they told me. If it is the second one, you are experienced to have an opinion about it. What do you use to fight these ancient sea monsters?😂😂 I think I prefer to run away. Is there a course taught by a warrior as great as you? Do you accept students? Of course, I don't expect to be as skilled as you, but if I can get rid of a blowfish, I'll be happy. 😁

Just having a look.

Here is a knife made for diving but can be used for not diving.

Comes with a Velcro pouch sheath option. Myerchin gen 2 saftey knife apparently.
I just saw this and was looking for cheap alternatives like Spyderco Enuff. It has good comments. I added it to the options. Thank you for this help.
