I also carry right rear pocket, tip down. I carry a Resilience Lightweight with S35VN blade steel, which I modded to have a Millie style "modified clip point" blade shape, and reground very thin. In my left cargo pocket is another Resilience, modded to have a shorter leaf shaped blade, also reground super thin. And my Tenacious S35VN, also modified, is my main around the house knife.

I like that shortened resilience. Probably lose a little bit more weight also and makes the tip more durable. Spyderco should make that.

Tip-up makes a lot of sense in a right pants pocket. This has led to a lot of people and a lot of companies to believing that the debate is settled. Unfortunately, that's not the reality. As has already been said, tip-down is great against the right seam of a rear pocket. For light and thin folders, it can also make sense in a shirt, breast, or vest pocket.

Now, new models just don't tend to come tip-down. Spyderco is probably the main source but it isn't all models. Just to give you an idea, I feel that the debate on assisted action has long been settled and I've grown to strongly dislike it. Without a better choice, my tip-down shirt-pocket knives is still a Kershaw Dividend. :(

For back pocket, my main choices are the Spyderco Rockjumper and the Real Steel H6. The latter comes in a few different variants. Mine is the "Elegance" (pictured below). I think most variants are discontinued but stock is still floating around if you look. They run 14C28N and are still under $50 most places.

There are pros and cons to the various methods of carry. Most people seem to prefer tip up for the right front pants pocket, but not everybody carries that way.
Back to the original question- my favorite tip down models are Spyderco PM2, Spyderco Military, and Benchmade 913. However I also like the Manix 2 and it is only available tip up.

Perhaps a Spyderco Native in Maxamet? My father has one and occasionally carries it. Great little knife, although I prefer my Para 3 for compact carry.

My knife is quite light at 55gm. So I carry it tip in. Frees up an extra pocket. Can reach it with either hand even when sitting.3582C346-0EC4-4A58-AB17-B32F306FB4B4.png

I always carry folders with clips in my right rear pocket, and have never felt the need for a tip-down clip position.
