Ken Erickson is a top maker of Traditional style folding knives and often works with ivory. His knives are more expensive than the price range you mention, but Ken is a kind and generous person and you might be able to make a deal with the extra ivory.
It would be worth contacting him because you never know if you don't ask. Two things are important: the knife maker must reside in U.S.A. (for ivory shipping), and, you need a knife maker that has experience working with ivory.
Another knife maker that fulfills both of these requirements is Phil Tham (www.ptartistry.com). His work is incredibly fine but his prices are relatively low. Phil's knives are some of the sharpest on the planet.

Well, after a little email back and forth with Jim Dunlap, the ivory's in the mail to Oklahoma. Three month turn around and a good price. This is one of two knives I want to buy in the near future, putting me somewhat over budget. A friend came over today and asked if I want to help build an addition for a guy locally. No brainer there, and it really helps get the money thing past the war department. Thanks for the help you guys, it was indispensable. The wheels are in motion!

Now that the deal is done, I'm going to close the thread. If you want to open it back up when you get your knife, leave a Visitor Message for Gary or me. Of course you can also just start a new thread at that time to show of your new beauty. Congrats!
