Looking to pull the trigger on another Becker and looking for some recommendations:

I currently own a BK2, Izula, RC-3, RC-4 and RC-5. What Becker blades do you see filling a void in this lineup?

My primary uses for blades are camping, bushcraft and tactical.

Thanks is advance for the recommendations!

Looks like you've got small and medium sized blades pretty well covered so how about picking up one of the larger BKs? My vote goes to the 7 or 9.

Primary uses for blades are camping, bushcraft and tactical...I advise BK16! you'll love it...

looks like you have a bunch of drop points. Take a look at the camp knives,BK5 and BK15. I LOVE my BK15.

Thanks gents for the suggestions.......looks like we have 2x recommendations for BK16, 2x for BK9, 1x BK 15 and 1x BK7........

I just need to buy them all.............

Go with the BK 9... I recently got one and it ain't levaing my side. it does everything I need. That with your izula and your set.

You need a 9. You can't not have a 9.

After that you might want to check out the 4, 5, 7, and 10.

How a person could consider themselves a Beckerhead and not have a 9 is kind of weird.

The BK9 is the most important knife you can ever own. How in the heck are you going to chop down trees and chop them into little pieces with a 4 inch knife?

There is no debate here. If you do not own a BK9 then you must go buy one right now, if you can not afford one then sell something and get one, do it now before it sinks in that you have been doing it wrong this whole time and you start to cry.

I just went thru a similar decision process: I own a BK-11 and a BK-2 and have had fun customizing both and especially enjoy using them while camping w my family. Last trip out a few weeks ago, I had to make some DIY tent poles for our dining fly and I used some deadfall tree limbs that I found near our campsite. I had to cut 4 limbs to the same length and taper one end on each pole so a loop of thin rope would fit over the end. The limbs were old (not green- I wouldnt cut a green tree unless it was an emergency) and from 2.5 to 3 inches thick. My BK-2 did a good job at hacking away when I used it hatchet style and chipped away at an angle ( I should have taken pics, will do that the next time). However I found that I got the best cutting with the short blade by holding the knife loosely while letting it swing while I just gripped the round bulge near the bottom. I have always thought that my BK-2 was a long enough blade to do anything I might need it to do but I decided to step up to something that might fill the chop/cut role a bit better and of course it HAD to be another Becker Blade! I ordered a BK-7 last week and expect it to be here on tuesday. I would be curious to see if the OP goes with a BK-9 or BK-7 and what his thoughts are after some actual field use. My new BK-7 wont stay in new condition for long and I plan to immediately strip the finish and re work the edge profile to start with. I am looking at grip and sheath options as well.
MTNMadness- Please post an update and let us know what you decided to add to your blade collection!

Both the BK9 and BK7 are cool but the BK9 is king.

I use my BK9 for around the camp and yard work. My BK9 is attached to my main back pack. If I am at camp and am going on a hike I use a smaller pack and carry a BK7 with me. The 9 stays at camp.

Great feedback guys......appreciate the input. The BK9 is certainly an overwhelming favorite. Looking into the specifications in detail.
