I'm looking for a saw to accompany my GB small forest axe. Mainly for larger pieces of wood. I have a pocket chainsaw that I like fairly well, but it gets tiresome after a few cuts. I love it for a small light weight option, but I'd like something more substantial.

I am really liking the looks of the Sven 21" saw or the pack/camp saw. I'd like the largest blade I can get, and the Sven is a little cheaper than the camp.

I like the sierra, gerber, fiskars, saws, but I'd really like a longer length.

What are some other options? The Sawvivor looks ok, but maybe too short.

Are you looking for a folding saw or a "bow" saw? I have the Fiskars folding saw and have used the hell out of it and it works great. As for the "bow" saw I hear good things about the Wyoming saw. Let us know whick one you choose. Cheers.

I'm looking more for a bow style saw, unless there is a 15-20" folding saw?

I hadn't seen the Wyoming saw, it looks pretty good. I was at Cabela's last week, wish I would have looked for it!

Check out the sawvivor, unlike the sven its a square, not a triangle, which gets in the way once you get into the log. A step up in length is here, wiyh a link to the sawvivor at the bottom.

A bow saw frame can be made pretty easily with some sticks and cordage, if you want to pack ultralight with just a blade.

+1 for the Trail Blazer Take-Down Buck Saw

Go for the larger 24" one if you're looking to cut larger logs. I like that the closed unit is has no sharp edges to damage gear. Assembly is pretty fast once you've done it a few times. No small parts to loose as the only wingnut can't come off. Feels great in the hand. Cuts like crazy!!!
