Recommendations Please - Small Pocket Folder

I'd throw my vote behind Spyderco, so much great stuff well within that budget. It might be a little larger than you're looking, but the Chaparral is such a fantastic knife and comes in lots of different variants, sure to be one that catches your eye. My favorite is the sun and moon version.

If you can double that budget find yourself a gently used CRK Mnandi :)

A little above your budget (new) but at your budget on the secondary marketplace…Spyderco Techno 2

Clean lines, well built, extremely capable, near indestructible; appropriate for office.
I like your style.

Native 5 or Manly Wasp.

Jokes aside, there are many options. Things that come to mind:

Civivi baby banter, Spyderco Cat (very underrated knife), Crkt little CEO, small boker burnleys, used Peña X knives, maybe even a GEC if you can swing the markup.

Autos okay? If so, a little UTX70, protech runt, etc.

Have fun shopping!

Spyderco Dragonfly 2 with G10 scales. The only downside to this knife is that every time I carry it and use it, I start contemplating why I bothered buying 50+ other folders.

What I'd buy . . .if I could.

One of the Chris Reeve folders. There are several models in several variations. I am drawn to a Large Sebenza model. I would be looking for one that is rather plane looking for EDC pocket carry.

Until then, my current EDC; a :Latherman Wave, will have to do.

For a gent's carry (out of sight) I would go for a liner lock (scales on both sides), wood scales (for style and comfort), and thumb stud opener.

MCusta makes some very fine knives right at your price point. There is a 2-3/4" Damascus and Ironwood liner lock that is a just a hair over 2 oz. on BladeHQ for $199. A very sweet piece ...

The Pena Micro Apache is fantastic for such a tiny knife. Despite it’s size, can still get a very good grip. It is also crazy fidgety. I haven’t been a fan of Peña’s x-series design aesthetics so I only have this one and the Callabero. I like both, but the Micro Apache’s detent/action is far superior. It is a lifetime keeper for sure.

The Giantmouse Riv is also really good. It made several knives that retail for many times more $ expendable (specifically the Olamic Whippersnapper, Busker, & Hoback MK Ultra).

Quiet Carry’s IQ & Drift are smallish knives are both really good. If you like the Drift, make sure you get a v2. I had 2 v1’s (Ti & G10). The detent/action on the v2 is miles ahead of the v1.

A very practical lightweight, flat, all purpose knife is the Cold Steel 3” Hold Out. Sturdy enough to be useful for all kinds of jobs. And so flat and lightweight, it disappears in the bottom of a pocket. Or clipped IWB beneath a belt.

I picked up a (mass)Drop x Ferrum Forge Gent recently with carbon fiber scales for just over $100. It’s got amazing action, is really slicey and would work perfectly in an office setting.
