What do you plan to do with it?
What do you already have?

Just looking at your screen name. You probably spend time in the water..

Spyderco DF2 in H1 blade steel?

For an EDC in this price range you can find a lot of options at Spyderco and Kershaw
If you can go up to 65-70$ I would recommand a spyderco Delica 4
Since I got one it has become my favorite light EDC and except for the week end it is the knife I have in my pocket for a while now

$50 should be able to get you a nice preowned Spyderco Delica off the exchange. I think that's the best EDC in that price range. Otherwise you could get a new Ontario Rat 1 or 2 depending on your size preference.

If you would, give a little more information. What knives do you have already? Are you looking for fixed or folder? What tasks will you require from your EDC?

save your money for so something better (100-150 usa made) or just get a Delica

Buy a Buck Vantage Select, good low cost edc knife from a reputable maker with a top notch warranty, made in USA, light weight, and the 420hc is great for rust resistance if you're on the water a lot; and pair it with another inexpensive CRKT Clark fork folding fillet knife to finish off your catches. Add in a cheap pocket hard arkansas stone for edge touchups: You can get all 3 at BladeHQ for right around $50 shipped.

What are your thoughts on the buck 110 ? It's a great knife and is only like 30$ right now.
The buck max lite and bantams are great for 20$
You can't go wrong with a anything Victorinox.
Do you own a leatherman ?
Mora makes a great fixed blade for very cheap if you need one.

Many people will tell you that you should save up and get something " better " you want a knife right now, and better is a relative term. There are lots of great knives under 50$ that will work just as well as more expensive knives, they just won't be as fancy where features are concerned.

Thanks for the recommendation. I actually only have 1 knife right now; sold off my collection a few years ago to pay for school lol lost my other two in a scuffle..
surprisingly I've never owned a delica, I think that might be the winner!

Getting hard to find a decent quality mass-produced knife for 50 bucks or less these days, even some of the Moras are closing in and / or breaching this price point. :(

Agree to some of the recommendations. A used Delica or Endura, or a brand new Tenacious or an Ontario Rat 1 D2 (add $10 to get a CF version).

Ontario Rat 1 D2 (add $10 to get a CF version).

This was my first choice. I just picked up the orange handled version. Great bang for the buck knife.

Or toss in a few more dollars and get a Buck Vantage Pro 347 with S30V blade.

I'd go with a D2 Ontario rat, or esee zancudo/ avispa. I'd also check out the Kershaw skyline.

Used delica is you want something very light and thin yet capapble. Endura if you want something a little longer while still light and thin.

I'll add the Rat II if you need a 3" blade for legal reasons. Just a nice knife for the money though I'm personally on the lookout for a blue delica... or a delica wharncliffe.

Something off the exchange here. An Ontario Rat, or maybe a Real Steel.
