Hey im new to spyderco knives and im planning on trying on a byrd from new graham. Im kinda interested in the Cara Cara but im wondering are there any decent byrd knives that any of you edc or have had good expierance?

Im looking for a midsized knife (around 3 inches)

the g10 handle byrd robin is my favorite one. i carried it everyday for over a year at my old job were i used it to open boxes and tasks like that. its an awesome little knife

+1 on the G10 Robin. It carries easily in a pocket and is a really sweet little pocket razor. The G10 Cara Cara is really nicely put together, too. It locks up tight and is a whole lot of knife for the money. Both of these are money well spent.

FWIW, I don't think there's a finer knife than the byrd Robin. I've got it in g10 and all stainless...but I prefer the g10. It rides nice in the pocket w/o the clip. Small enough for dress...and yet it's a handfull for serious cutting. I also have the cara cara and the meadowlark and the raven...but the robin's my favorite! Can't go wrong.

I like the Meadowlark a lot. I have it in FRN & G-10. Go with FRN if you prefer lighter weight. You will be pleased with how much knife you get for the money.

I like the Flight, have one in SS, just ordered one in G-10. It is a bit over your three inch spec, though. More like three and a half, with the Cara Cara at four. I don't really care much for SS handles in general, so I think the G-10 is going to be a great user.

hi YourNoob,
if you want a mid-sized Byrd, the CaraCara might be a little too big....
the Meadowlark is roughly "Delica-sized", the Robin is "Dragonfly-sized"....
Both versions in FRN or G-10 scales are highly recommended ...
the Robin is to the left ....

The Meadowlark is a very nice knife. If you are looking for a "midsize" folder the Cara Cara is too big, generally speaking, and the Robin is too small. The Meadowlark is "just right" for many tasks (including cutting and peeling apples) and small enough not to get much negative attention, in my experience.

Many of my friends who are interested in my knives but do not yet have (m)any always seem to gravitate towards my Meadowlark G-10 for some reason (and I have dozens of more expensive folders). It makes a very pleasant "snick" when it opens, it is comfortable to use and carry, and feels like it could be a much more expensive knife.

I have the crow and raven both are good but a little heavy with the aluminum handles but I hear they are coming out with g10 versions
