Is there anywhere I can find recommended temperatures for heat treating and tempering for 154 CM and 440c blades ? Found nothing on search . Presently I am doing 440c by wrapping in ss , hardening at 1880 , hold for 15 minutes , air cool then temper at 225 for 2 hr . I do not have a hardness tester and am just wondering if I should tweak my temps or times any to get the most out of 440 c and 154 CM.I know cryo would help also but I`m not equipted for that . Is there anyplace or would anyone share their heat treating formulas for 440 C or 154CM ?
Thanks , Larry

Both of those steels are made by Crucible. All the info you want
is available at curcibleservice.com.

Thanks guys . It seems I am in line with what they recommended . If anyone out there uses and heat treats 440c for themselves , would you say I should tweak it some to get the most out of it or do you think I should try to get some way to do a cryo on it to get the most out of it
