Recommended tool for cutting our blanks from bar stock?

I bought the HF bandsaw and lennox 18-24 tpi blades. I use tap magic cutting oil, seems to work pretty good. All I use is 1084. Get the warranty on the saw if you do this though. I'm on my first set of blades and my third saw. Mainly because the chunks of steel occasionally fall into the saw and break the gears. Lately I've been using the wheel on my grinder though with 36 grit belts and it makes short work of profiling.
