OK it's been a long time coming
this is the ReConXL2
this is the one I'm in hopes of being mass produced to get into more hands of our fighting men and woman..
for easy of manufacturing this is a full tang, unlike the ReConXL1 much easier to make.. this is the proto, still naked
and pre H/T tell me you think..

i think there's going to be some happy soldiers out there if you get that thing mass produced
and for those out there who havent held it yet. its one sweet feeling knife, nice fit and nice balance all around:thumbup:

im not familiar with your other one Dan, but im assuming you arent gonna leave it all bright and shiny?

Pretty awesome stuff right there!

Got closeups of the handle? Could you put insets into the recesses?

sorry Dave no close up on it I sized the pictures and dumped the others:(
when I first made the knife it was my intention to add inserts but with some thought and some input from here I/we thought it would make for 6 parts to possibly fall out, at first I planed on putting a soft grippe neoprene in there.. ,, I'm sure what I put there would stay there but it makes for a good grip as is..

But this can be done per order also, so ultimately it's up to the customer..
thanks guys:)

I was thinking Neoprene or Kraton inserts as well, but see also what you mean about their being additional parts that could fail. One thing you could consider depending on what modifications it would require is that at Home depot in the specialty hardware section there are rubber feet for projects which have machine screws embedded. You could theoretically match their diameter and thread them right into the tang, then grind them flush with the scales.

Anyways, now I am just rambling, but that is a sweet knife. I love the camo version with the tooled camo sheath!

ahhh I found where I posted the prototype to compair to..
..and a year later, the finished product..
Tops made a few small changes for manufacturing proposes and I will be customizing some for customers also..
wacha all think? :o
I'd like to get another thing going for the troops, to get some of these and some of your blades out there to them any interest and any ideas?

Dan,

I doubt the production guys would go for it, but on your own models you could fill the inserts with something like two part rubber that they make molds from. Give the holes some kind of relief inside so the rubber can't fall out. Just an idea. Nice project any way you go.

Thanks Rudy
when I first started the project I did head in that direction but decided not to do that, but leave it as an option for the customer if they wanted them..
I kind of ran the idea here on BFC back then ,
the grip is better this way and the knife would have 6 less things to go wrong.
I do think it would look better with the inserts though.. but I think function won out.. but like I said it's an option for the customer..
I do welcome the input thanks  :)
