Recovered addict, can you interest me in a knife?

So, after going on what I consider a rampage (many of you wouldn't), I've not bought anything for a couple months now. Nothing has caught my eye. I bought a small sebenza, and since then for whatever reason, I'm just not interested in other knives.

So the Sebenza was left in a friends car, I haven't had an opportunity to go retrieve it yet.


Honestly I just can't find anything I'm interested in. Izula folder looks kinda cool (although not sure if I'd actually buy it), but it isn't being sold yet.

Can you interest me in a new folder? I bet you can't.

p.s. while not buying is way easier on the wallet, it sure isn't as much fun. :(
 
I know what I'm waiting for. ZT 0551 and S90V Paramilitary 2. The Lionsteel SR-1 that I am currently fondling is pretty awesome as well.
 
I have some pretty nice custom and high end production folders in my collection, but the one folder getting the most pocket time for me right now is my Spiderco Manix 2 with flat grind, carpenters steel, and sage G-10 scales. Go figure but I'm really liking this knife....
 
Welcome back freq. You did have a very nice collection going of higher end folders from what I recall. Thing is that you only live once, while being responsible there should be no reason not to enjoy and collect some nice folders. Just my 2 cents.
 
I feel the same way Freq.

Once I purchased my CRKs and SnG my spending has decreased dramatically.
Not many other knives can give me the same satisfaction and I don't want to pay for temporary satisfaction.

What's fun is getting after market scales for the knives you love! X]
 
I go for months sometimes too without making a knife purchase. Doesn't stop me from enjoying the knives I have though.

Might something like this whet your appetite?

Sounds like you've gotten one of the best folders out there... no wonder you feel exhausted with knife collecting!

Nothing like a good fixed blade to rock your world and get you back into knife collecting insanity!
 
I only get 1-2 knives per year, not a lot, but budget is tight with kids in college etc. One thing I like to do is start edc-ing some of my old knives... I've started carrying some stockman style knives that I've had since the 70's. I forgot how well they ride in my pocket. As I carry some of my older knives, i remember the things that attracted me to the knife.

The next knife that I will probably carry for a while is an older AG Russell toothpick style folder. Small and light, almost disappears in my pocket. Is one of my first knives that were made of the hi tech materials (G10 handle with ATS-34 blade, lock back).

Go up to LOWE's and pick up a Case SS Sodbuster for $18.00. If that doesn't crush your "FUNK" your hopeless.... ;)
 
I already have a fallkniven F1, the last fixed blade I will ever need.

I don't need a sodbuster, already have a sway back jack that I don''t use anymore.


I didn't say this was going to be easy. =)
 
You need a Lg. Sebenza.

I sold my small Insingo, bought a Lg. Insingo, and I'm not looking back.:cool:
 
You are probably right Freq. Yup, you have all you need now. I would bet that with your current inventory you will never buy another knife again:thumbup:.

I feel the same way as you right now, since i started carrying my small seb, i havent wanted much else...im on the list for the 0551, but thats about it for me
