Recovered addict, can you interest me in a knife?

check out murray carter... damn do i want one

i figure if we can't interest you in a folder we sure can interest you in the fixed blade area of our addiction

So, after going on what I consider a rampage (many of you wouldn't), I've not bought anything for a couple months now. Nothing has caught my eye. I bought a small sebenza, and since then for whatever reason, I'm just not interested in other knives.

So the Sebenza was left in a friends car, I haven't had an opportunity to go retrieve it yet.

Honestly I just can't find anything I'm interested in. Izula folder looks kinda cool (although not sure if I'd actually buy it), but it isn't being sold yet.

Can you interest me in a new folder? I bet you can't.

p.s. while not buying is way easier on the wallet, it sure isn't as much fun. :(

umnumzaan or large sebenza.

Same quality, but bigger knife.

I think a more tactical folder might be what you want. Something along the lines of Emersons or Striders.

I concur with the Strider comment. I ended up buying the SnG barely a month after I got my small sebbie. They compliment each other very well

My Carrying shedule: 40% Small Sebbie, 40% SnG, and 20% other knives for fun.

The Strider PT-CC is an excellent EDC knife as well, especially if you like the size of your small seb. I have them both, as well as the larger versions of each, plus the small and large XM-18's...plus a ton of other regular production folders. The ones that get the most pocket time for me, including at work which involves a mix of office and factory floor, are my PT-CC, 3" XM-18, and my Spyderco Caly3 -- truly one of the best knives ever designed and built. One larger knife days (which pretty much means non Los Angeles days) I carry my large Seb and SNG regularly, plus Benchmade 940, 950 and Kershaw Volt mostly. Large XM comes with me when I need a tank and my orange Spyderco Military comes with me when I'm feeling like carrying a weapon.

If you don't have a Caly3 then you should check that out. Or the PT-CC if you want to spend some more money. Damn I love knives. :):thumbup:

Very left field and probably rejected immediately : BEE L05 or BEE L05-1, for $10 or so on eBay. For the price of a burger meal (approx) you get a knife you can abuse as much as you like, no guilt. And it's actually better than you might think.

I'll go now....before I get cut to bits by all the high end knives around here!!

Already had an umnum, sold it.

My collection consists of a few different things, a couple William Henrys, the small Sebenza, a leek, a few others. I'm not attached to any of them except the Sebenza, and the F1.

Freq,

What you could add is to add an elegant folder that looks and works well at the dining table. Something french or italian.

Specific recommendations:

- Chambriard Le Compagnon

- A decent laguiole

- Maserin Gourmet (Ebony looks best, I think)

While those look nice, they don't interest me enough to buy.

Maybe I really am cured for good!

Some people just aren't knife people. They pop into the forums when they need to know something specific, then they're gone again.

And that's no problem at all; I do the same with car and truck forums. How often do I need to learn about a car, about once every six or eight years. Talking about them constantly when I'm not in the market to buy one just isn't appealing.

Great, now you can move onto guns and high power rifles:thumbup:
Or cars. Or power tools. Or photography. Or computers. Or the stock market. Or (god forbid) politics. Or travel. Or... or... or... There's a lot of stuff out there!
