The blade is coated with a product called Duracoat, which was designed for firearms, and is supposedly very durable. We'll see. :)

Be still my heart!! I LOVE that!!! I usually do not like coated blades, but that one, well, that one is AWESOME!!!

Phillip was the first maker on BF that I bought from, he had his own style right from the start.
I have drawers of his knives, but I cant wait for this one!
Phillip, the duracoat on this one looks smoother than on my 7" camp knife, excellent job.
Might want the coating on the others too :)
 
Phillip, how'd you like working with the duracoat? I'm curious as to the application process. Talon, you'll have to let us know how it holds up.
