I have seen criticism here about the way some of us make our knives using jigs, CNC machines and even blanks purchased to install a handle. I am not going to be critical of these methods or act superior because I forge some of my knives, grind free hand and do my own heat treating in an Evenheat furnace, after all, most of us started out using some of these methods and slowly worked into a completely hand made product. Just so these beginners don't misrepresent their knives as completely "hand made"
So if you are a purist, this knife has been made in my shop using tooling that I have accumulated over the past 30-40 years of trading, upgrading and purchasing new machinery, so please excuse the slight mismatch of grind lines and an occasional scratch.

Forged from 5210 high carbon stee
Heat treated to Rc 58-60 with attention to a fine grain structure throughout the blade
Flat grind with 400 grit belt finish followed with a cork belt
Black canvas Micarta handle sanded to 36 grit for grip
Overall length: 11 3/4 inches
Blade: 6 1/2 inches
Leather scabbard with a belt loop for a right hand carry. (I don't hand stitch, I use a sewing machine)

Nice grab, Rat! I like it! This is the first G.L. Drew recurve I can recall seeing, but if another one is forged and happens to be bigger... I would work hard to beat out other interested parties with my hair trigger finger...! Just saying!
Great work on this one, man! And I always like your sheaths, as well.

Thanks. I've been looking at GL Drew's posts for awhile now waiting for that one that really spoke to me.

Gerry, great knife. I was thinking as I was looking at the photos, "this won't last long!" And, wow! Sold right a way. That's a message... make more!

Got your check but I'm having trouble contacting you through a message, all is in order but please send me an email so I can keep you up to date. Thanks
